We do have riding hats in adustable sizes, and we don't mind if you want to bring your own as long as it's up to date safety wise
  • What do we do if the weather is too bad?
Except of a rare occation during the winter time, we never cancel rides due to the weather. It is up to the guest riders whether they want to ride or not if they doesn't like the weather on the day of their booking. We do off course offer to reschedule if there are any availabilities. The weather often seems worse from sitting inside, but as soon as you go outside it is not as bad as it seems. We do offer 100% refund if we have to cancel a ride and are unable to reschedule. If the guest rider cancel their ride the same day due to weather conditions and we're not able to reschedule, 50% of the price will be refunded. Some rides will be rescheduled to shorter rides or a different route due to weather conditions, and price will be reduced accordently.
  • Am I too heavy to ride an Icelandic horse?
Even though our horses are strong and are known to be able to manage heavy riders, they are still quite small and as we love them as a part of our family, we want them to last for as long as possible and put their health before profit. Hence a strict weight limit. NB! An advanced rider on the heavy side is easier to carry than a lighter unexperienced rider because of techniques, skills and balance. Max. weight for a riding lesson (60 min) - 90 kg Max. weight for a short ride (60 min) 95 kg Max. weight for a longer ride (more than 60 min) 85 kg
  • Why is your longer rides for skilled riders only?
The terrain we are so lucky to live near by and are able to ride in for our longer rides, is too difficult for an inexperienced rider to handle. We take the health and safety for our horses and guest highly serious and we do not compromise the welfare for the horses by offering tours the riders we concider unfit to participate.

  • Why Icelandic horses?
There are plenty of different kinds of horses to choose from, but there is something about the spirit of these strong and powerfull little horses that appeals to me. They are friendly and easy going, they like to be at work and they are good tempered. They have good control over their feet and hardly ever misplace their steps in the terrain. And best of all; they have the 4th gait called tölt. Nothing is more rewarding than riding this soft gait across the fields and up in the mountians.
  • How do I pay?
